Norwest - VocTech Watch & Clock Repair School

Learn Watch and Clock Repair in Seattle

text

NorWest Voc’Tech LLC is Seattle’s only privately-operated, independent school for watchmakers and clockmakers. Our program is a “descendent” of the North Seattle Community College evening program in watch and clock repair that had been in existence for over 35 years before budget constraints forced its closure in 2009. Rather than allow this valuable community asset to be lost, instructor Tom Payne has kept the program alive, and found a new home at the Shoreline Conference Center in North Seattle.

NorWest Voc’Tech offers instruction in mechanical watch repair and clock repair. Courses also cover theory of horology and micro-machining skills. Whether you are a beginner with a fascination for clocks or watches, a serious hobbyist with an interest in acquiring the skills needed to maintain your collection, or an experienced horologist with a desire to sharpen your technique, the instructors and volunteer mentors at NorWest Voc’Tech can help you develop your horological skills at your own pace.

For most of our teachers and students, watches and clocks are a passion. Understanding “what makes it tick” and gaining the skills needed to repair and restore fine watches and clocks can provide a sense of pleasure and accomplishment that will last a lifetime.
